German rider Daniel Deusser is used to leading the pack on the Longines World Rankings list for show jumping. But maintaining your position at the top of the field takes plenty of work, and Daniel—who rides for Stephex Stables in Belgium—maintains his hold on the rankings list with an intensive international show schedule, while also balancing his time as a husband and father to young daughter, Stella.
So far in 2017, alone, Daniel has traveled from CSI5* competitions in Zurich and Bordeaux to Hong Kong, Wellington, Doha, and back to Wellington. In other words, he doesn’t have time to stress about selecting the right apparel to do his job, especially when it comes to choosing tall boots for the show ring.
As a longtime fan of Italian-made Tucci Boots, Daniel says there’s a hierarchy for how he selects his riding footwear. “What’s important to me is, number one, performance; number two, comfort; and number three, how they look,” Daniel says. “With Tucci boots, your leg is in a good position and they enable me to move well. The leather is really soft and comfortable, and the look of the boots is really refined.”
Stylish as they are, there is more to Daniel’s Monteverdi boots than meets the eye. Here are four things to know about Tucci’s fully customizable designs—or you can click on the numbers above to learn more!
1. The Monteverdi Boot
Daniel’s Monteverdi boot is made from Italian calfskin inside and out, creating a natural, luxurious feeling around the leg while offering perfect contact and freedom of movement in the ring.
Master craftsman Franco Tucci was inspired to put his two generations of family heritage and expertise to use, founding his own company outside of Rome in 2006. Using premium materials and hand craftsmanship at every stage of the production process, Tucci boots have become a global leader in equestrian style and innovation.
3. The Perfect Fit System
Tucci’s custom boots are designed with the help of autoCAD software to achieve millimetric precision in how the boots are cut. This digital modification also ensures accuracy the very first time, saving precious materials and time for a more environmentally friendly approach to shoe manufacturing.
From top to bottom, Tucci custom boots can be designed to suit a rider’s individual tastes and style. From designs to suit show jumping, dressage, and eventing competitors, to models for pony and young riders, there are endless ways to customize your boots in style, color, and decorative accents.
