The sun seems to be shining brighter over St. Tropez in the ultra glam South of France this weekend as show jumpers take over the Plage de Bagatelle for the fourth edition of the Longines Athina Onassis Horse Show CSI5*. By mid-week, VIP goers could already be spotted in crushed suede suits and thigh-high lace-up boots.
Amid the three days of equestrian competition is the action inside the heavily guarded L-shaped VIP tent, where France’s most fashionable holiday-ers mingle with the world’s top riders. Culinary choices range from fresh seafood displayed against a dramatically presented swordfish, to filet mignon carved upon request, to the Italian staple of prosciutto.
Not to forget France’s most important export—champagne—and event sponsor Henriot has taken care of the bubbly supply, while the rosé is also flowing like water.
Under the bright white tents that encircle this arena, one can see exactly why so many come from so far to enjoy all there is to offer at this fabulous horse show.
