Some fashion decisions just make good sense, and decking out movie star Catherine Zeta-Jones in head-to-toe equestrian gear is one of them. The Welsh actress was recently featured in Gio to promote her new Casa Zeta-Jones home goods line wearing top-of-the-line show jumping apparel, complete with an Equiline coat and breeches and Fratelli Fabbri boots.

If Zeta-Jones, who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 2003’s Chicago, looks right at home in equestrian garb, that’s because she is. The actress is an on-again, off-again rider, who routinely finds time for horses at her homes in Bedford, New York, and Mont Tremblant, Québec (among others), and looks just as comfortable on the trails as she does in her polished, photo shoot-approved horse show duds.

Back in 2002, Zeta-Jones was even awarded an 11.2-hand dun pony for her son Dylan from the Welsh Pony and Cob Society as a tribute to her Welsh heritage. The pony, named Highland Jinks, was later moved the Zeta-Jones and husband Michael Douglas’s family ranch in Arizona.

And, even before that, there was her star-making turn in 1998’s The Mask of Zorro, when she (literally) rode in on a palomino horse to steal Zorro’s heart—and most of the world’s in the process.
